Come
visit Wings of Hope Wildlife Sanctuary for fun, food, and falconry. The 2009
Wings of Hope Open House will be held on Saturday, December 5th from 1-6 PM.
The Open House
gives the public a chance to come in and see what
really goes on behind the doors at Wings of Hope. This only happens once a year.
- Tours of the facility will be given throughout the day.
- Our longtime falconer friend, David McFarland, will be back flying his Harris Hawk, Little Man.
He will be hunting with Little Man a little before the Open House. If you
would like to watch falconry in practice bring old clothes and boots, and show
up at 12:30.
- Wings of Hope will open the doors to its brand new Education Center.
- For the first time, Wings of Hope will hold a silent auction
at the Open House. Many items have been donated for the silent auction from
friends across the United States, as well as, Canada, Thailand and Brazil. Items
include wildlife prints, jewelry, various crafts and much more. Proceeds from
the silent auction will go towards housing and feeding sick, injured and
orphaned wildlife at Wings of Hope. The auction will take place from 1:30 to
3:00 and again from 4:00 to 5:30. This is the perfect opportunity to do some
Christmas shopping!
- Wings of Hope t-shirts, sweatshirts and posters will also be
available for purchase.
- Only cash and check will be accepted.
So mark your calendar and come join us for a great time at
the Wings of Hope Wildlife Sanctuary on December 5th!
